Per Sector Study Feature
The per sector study (added in version 11.0.3) is a feature where area studies can be run per sector and displayed. In addition this allows users using the area studies query by point feature to export the study results per sector as well. Using this with the per sector studies will produce a CSV report, producing a coverage against meters/cpe/tower/csv file to determine devices covered per sector. Thus providing a cost saving analysis. Along with the KMZ exports per sector.
Setup
Set up the project as per link budget, with sites/sector and hardware parameters with any soft parameters.
Open area studies, in the details a new option is presented “run per sector study.”
You can also see this option from the Area Studies menu as well:
Check the “Run per sector study” to initiate the sector studies.
In addition, select the “study display style.”
This step can be done after the study has run from the study layer.
Run the studies as usual.
Focus Sector
The focus sector capabilities have been extended to be used with this feature set. You are able to select a sector and make it a focus sector. You can right click on a site and select which sector you want to be the focus from the right-click menu.
Using this with the “display focus sector” option found by right clicking on a specific area study from within the project pane as shown below:
To see the display per sector coverage, select “Display Focus Sector.”
To change sector, select another sector and make it the focus sector:
Further you can view different studies side by side in 2 map views.
Each time a new sector is selected both views change.
Ensure you are setting up the new map layers.
To avoid re-write of study files, rename the study for a unique name that is not overwritten.
Exporting Results: Area Study Queries by Point
To run the reports and KMZ outputs, go into the Area Study Queries by Point GUI found under the Query menu:
You can now import a meter list for the report as well:
Select an output file location.
Select “Output each sector to KMZ file” to get a consolidated KMZ file.
Select save to zip if you wish to have a zip file output and leave unchecked to save in an unzipped folder.
Opening the CSV report will present the user with the follow format.
