How To Exclude An Area From A Study

To begin setup a project and run a study.

 

Navigate to draw> service area boundary in the menu bar.

Draw the service area boundary by clicking down on the map around the area you want included in your study. Once you are back to your starting point you will double click on the starting point to close the shape. In the image below this is depicted as the green square.

Next, right click on the boundary line you have just drawn and choose the option create exclusion boundary.

Click down on the map around the area you want exclude from your study. Once you are back to your starting point you will double click on the starting point to close the shape. In the image below this is depicted as the orange pentagon.

Press and hold CTRL button while clicking on one shape and then the other inorder to highlight both shapes.

Then right click on the outershape and choose the option save to file.

Save the file.

Next, navigate to studies >area studies in the menu bar

A dialogue box will open.

 

Double click on the study you want to filter out the results on.

A dialogue box will open.

Check the box use single polygon filter on study and browse to the file you have just saved.

Click okay back to the main menu.

Rerun your study.
