How to manipulate groups of entities in Building Editor

When using the DAS module you will likely be utilizing the Building Editor and the DAS Design Editor. Both of these tools allow for you to group entities together and make changes to those entities. Entities are any line, polygon, or piece of RF equipment.

You can manually right-click on specific entities or layers and add them to the active group.

You also have the ability to group entities by drawing a grid with two points. Any entity that is inside of the grid will be added to the active group. To do this the user must be sure to select the “Group” button from the toolbar. Here is an image of that button:

If you select this button you can left click and hold the first point of the grid then release the mouse button at the second point of your grid to group all entities inside the grid to the active group. Please be aware that the grid will not be visible to the user. This drawing of the grid is similar to how you would draw a study grid in SignalPro.

You can also right click and hold and follow the same steps of drawing the grid, but this right click functionality will remove those entities from the active group.

You could adjust the material types of the active group or adjust base/top heights. But what you can also do is move those active group entities about the map by using the coordinate transform tab towards the bottom left of the Building Editor or DAS Design Editor. Once in the coordinate transform tab you will want to use the translate with two points option. This will allow you to click one point on an entity, and click another point somewhere on the map to move the entity from one point to the next. This should move all entities within the active group.
