Interference Contour Study
You may occasionally need simple contour sets where the service and interference contours can be independently defined in terms of propagation model, time percentage, contour color and contour line type. Such contour maps are often used for spectrum allocation purposes, broadcasting, and other services where, for administrative purposes, simple signal strength contours are desirable. These type of simple contours are possible only when using a simple empirical model such as Hata or a U.S. FCC model.
When you select Studies>Interference Contour Study, a dialog box will display where information for up to five contours can be entered. You can select the signal level, propagation model, time percentage, line color and style, for each of five contours which may be relevant to your allocation study. These contours are the service contour, co-channel interference, first adjacent, second adjacent and third adjacent channel interference contours. Enter the numbers or make the selections that are appropriate for your study. If a particular contour is not relevant for your study, such as first, second or third adjacent channel interference, simply leave the plot box un-checked.
When you have finished making your entries and selections, select Start Study and your study contours will be calculated and drawn for each transmitter that is configured as active
