Legend

Several legend parameters can be set to enhance your map, as shown in the two figures below.
Select Map>Legend>Map Titles to set explanatory text for your map legend, as shown below. The map title block below the legend scale contains four label fields for a title, subtitle, date, and figure or exhibit number. When drawn on your map the title and subtitle will automatically be centered, and the title character sizes will automatically be scaled to best fit in the space. The position and size of the date and figure number labels are fixed.

Selecting Map>Legend>Legend Options brings up a Legend Options dialog box where you can select additional information to be added to the legend window.

Legend window width

You can manually specify the width of the printed legend and legend window. This can also be set on the fly in the main map with the legend floating window displayed. Just grab the edge of the legend window and drag it to the desired width.

Show item check boxes

The check boxes toggle the display of that item on or off. Most are self-explanatory. The Show notes checkbox affects the notes fields lower in the dialog box. The Show bitmap checkbox is used with the Path for bitmap to display as logo field to display a .bmp format of your logo. There is no scaling option for the logo, so make sure it’s the size you want before importing.

No. of Active Sites for Printout

Allows you to select how many of the active sites on your map will be included in the legend when the map is printed.

Printer Options

Choose how to add the legend to the printed map.

Reset Window Position

Selecting Map>Legend>Reset Window Position moves the legend window display to the original position on the map.

Toggle Map Legend

You can turn the visibility of the legend on and off by select the Toggle Map Legend button .
