CPE Data
Point to Multipoint systems use customer premise equipment or subscriber units (CPE/SU) as the end-point piece of equipment for multipoint studies. The CPE’s are placed in the CPE map layer. Like other layers, you can control how they are displayed on the screen. The CPE map layer is added automatically to the map layers when you add or import a CPE.
To manually add the CPE/SU layer click on Map>CPE Data. To edit the data, you can use the map menu, or you can highlight the CPE (customer terminal) layer in the map layers then click Style to get to the same dialog box for editing, as well as through the Map Layers list in the Project Pane.
Show CPE Data
Toggles the map layer on or off for display.
Show Group/Show CPE Group/Display CPE ids/Display CPE text/Display Channels
For each group listed in the middle of the dialog box, you can highlight a layer and toggle it’s display using the Show CPE group checkbox. Unchecking a group will cause CPE’s in that group not to be displayed on the main map.
Each CPE has a descriptive text field, and a unique CPE number that identifies it. Both are user editable (see the RF Systems chapter>CPE’s for more details). Toggling the Display CPE ids or Display CPE Text checkbox will toggle the display of these fields next to each CPE on the map. If your version of EDX SignalPro has one of the additional modules that supports frequency planning and channelization, you can show channels assigned to the CPE by toggling the Display Channels checkbox on.
Symbol size/Color/Symbol
These choices affect how the actual CPE’s are displayed on the map The selections work exactly as described in previous sections.
This only affects the display of the base CPE icon on the map. Once you run an multipoint study, these choices will be overlaid with the results of the multipoint study. The Symbol/color/size for the multipoint study results are set in the study setup (See Studies>Multipoint Studies for more details).
