Land Use (Clutter) Data

Drawing land use/land clutter (also referred to as: LULC, land use (clutter), LUC, land use, clutter or groundcover) data operates in a similar way as the terrain data display described previously. To display LUC data, select Map>Land Use (Clutter) Data, or use the Map Layers dialog box, then highlight the land use layer and click the Style button. An important difference with LUC data displays is there are a limited number of clutter types, and these are not displayed in ranges, so no range values or coloring is needed.

Color/Symbol/Land use (clutter) type

Clicking on a field in the Color column brings up a color picker for setting the color of that LUC type. Clicking the Symbol drop-down list allows for changing the symbol displayed. Normally it’s set to a solid color, fully filling the bin at that location. While it’s possible to use other symbols, it’s not recommended as it can make the display very difficult to interpret. The Land use (clutter) type checkboxes are used to show or hide specific LUC categories from the map display. It can be useful if you’re only interested in a specific LUC feature, like say urban or commercial areas only.
