EDX Wireless has some new additions to our TileSelector, which is used to purchase/download various types of terrain/clutter/population data. The latest additions include 30 meter terrain data for tiles above 60 degrees latitude. Previously we did not have terrain data included for these “high latitude” areas. The 30m world data DOES NOT include the high latitude terrain data. If you are looking to purchase/download terrain data for the “high latitude” areas you need to be sure to make the proper dataset selection. I have highlighted the correct dataset selection below:

You need to be sure to select the 30m World Terrain Latitude Extension (61 degrees and above) when looking to download data for areas about 60 degrees latitude.

For example here is what a random section of high latitude terrain looks like when being utilized by SignalPro:

It is good to know that if the TileSelector includes specific data for a location, such as Alaska. You will want to use the specific location data over the world data, even if the location is about 60 degrees latitude. The specific location data will always be more accurate for that location as opposed to the general 30m world data and 30m world extension high latitude.

If you have further questions regarding this new data or questions about the TileSelector you can submit a support request here: https://edxwireless.atlassian.net/servicedesk/customer/portal/2
