Problem

  1. There are certain names that cannot be used for Site and Sector names etc.

  2. Their is an error that can occur with Route Studies when the first sector in the study begins and ends with uppercase/lowercase and the same letter.

  3. Decimal Marker being changed to a comma or other symbol

Solution

  1. Rename your sites and sectors by not utilizing the reserved names specified below.

This problem can occur because the user has used the letters “CON” or “con” in the sector name.

These names are still reserved by Windows from the MS-DOS era. Other reserved names include AUX, COM1 -COM9, PRN, LPT1-LPT9 and NUL.

2. If you receive an error during a route study, you may notice that the error can display a file name with an incorrect spelling. This is because the first sector name in the study begins with and uppercase letter and ends with a lowercase of the same letter.

The original file should be named “Radar.seg”. In order to bypass this issue, try to add a number to the end of the file name, such as “Radar1.seg”. Doing this should correct this error. We have also seen this particular error for another file name such as “Eugene.seg”. The error displays the file name as “Eugen.seg”. If you add a number to the file name such as “Eugene1.seg”

3. Some of the dialog menus within SignalPro (the OFDM adaptive modulation paramters dialog, in particular) rely on Windows regional and language settings for formatting and will automatically change decimal markers and number group markers to the wrong symbol, resulting in an error. If this is occurring, the solution is to go into Control Panel> Regional and Language Options and either select American English or customize the settings to use a period as a decimal dot and a comma as a number group marker. The EDX software will need to be closed and reopened for the change to take effect.Related article
