1. Before you begin you will need the following:

To start, launch SignalPro. We will be starting with a project that already has terrain and clutter data loaded as well as the bing map layer turned on in the map layers. If you do not know how to load terrain and clutter or turn on the bing map layer please refer to https://edxwireless.atlassian.net/l/c/1E7Cs2hg

  1. Create a graphic layer by tracing the building on the map

  2. Trace the outside of the buildings by clicking down on the map around the perimeter of the building. Once you are back to your starting point you will double click on the starting point to close the shape. 

  3. Open the building editor by selecting the building editor button on the button bar.

  4. The image overlay feature allows you to overlay the image file, use the coordinate transform tools to rotate, scale and move the image to line up with the building outline.

  5. Draw the interior walls.

  6. Navigate to databases>buildings/floor plans in the menu bar.

  7. You will now see the DAS module toolbar appear at the top of your screen. In the first drop down box select the MDL file you wish to use.

  8. Choose the equipment and parameters settings of the study you want to run.

  9. Set up your mobile/ remote unit by navigating to RF systems>mobile/ remote unit in the menu bar.

  10. Set the propagation model. Navigate to studies>propagation models in the menu bar.

  11. Set the study grid area and point spacing. Navigate the define study grid button in the button bar.

  12. Set up your area study. Navigate to studies>area studies in the menu bar.

  13. Place the RF source and antenna by selecting them in the button bar and placing them down on the map.

  14. Now you are ready to run the study.
