How to Assign Servers & Channels to CPEs

Users have the capability to both manually and automatically assign servers/channels to their CPEs. The automatic channel assignment requires the addition of the one of the network design modules; Mobile & Cellular, WiMAX, LTE/LTE-PRO, 5G.

  1. Users can manually edit the CPE details directly.

  2. Edit groups of CPEs in bulk using the spreadsheet editor.

  3. Automatically using Multipoint Sector Assignment & Channel Planning (Network Design Module(s) required)

Manually edit the CPE details directly

Users can access the CPE details menu through the menus RF Systems>CPEs. Highlight the specific group of CPEs to be edited. Then highlight the specific CPE and press Edit CPE to open the CPE details menu.

Users can also access the CPE details menu through the main map view. Hover the mouse pointer over the specific CPE and right-click to access the menu where users can jump into the CPE details for that CPE, along with several other functions.

Edit groups of CPEs in bulk using the Spreadsheet Editor

Under the RF Systems menu is the Spreadsheet Editor. The Spreadsheet Editor allows user to mass edit their sites/sectors/cpes/links. To assign or edit channels for CPEs users will go into the CPE details section of the Spreadsheet Editor. Look for the Assigned Server Cell ID column to adjust the assigned channels for those CPEs.

Automatically using Multipoint Sector Assignment & Channel Planning

If the user has access to one of the Network Design Modules then it is possible to automatically assign servers and or channels. This is found under the menu Network Design/Analysis>Multipoint/Backhaul Networks>Assign Servers & Channels. If this menu is greyed out, the user does not have access to one of the Network Design Modules.
