When working with the mesh module there is a known issue that may occur depending on the users workflow. This being when a user runs the initial mesh studies, and then goes back to their sites and makes changes to either the antenna pattern files, edits the transmit/receive parameters, or just makes general changes. Or the user makes changes to the propagation model dialogue or to their terrain/clutter databases. After making these changes the user may notice that their new mesh study results do not seem different. The user should clear all caches within the MegaMesh menu in order to see their changes take place. The user might also want to navigate to Studies>Study Preferences and press the “reset all working files button” if the user is running any area studies along with their Mesh studies.

...

Then go back into MegaMesh Under MegaMesh you will want to go and clear the cache files located under the setup and sort Setup Mesh Studies menu. You will want to clear the router cache for initial sorting and for single router calculations, this is the more important cache to clear. The first option to clear router cache for initial sorting will clear the caches used for setup, repeater chaining, auto placement, and sampling. There is also an option within the setup and sort menu where you can also clear the propagation cache files.

...

And lastly, you will need It could be a good idea to re-run the entire mesh study process after clearing the cache files in order to see the changes the user madethe setup process if you have made changes to a Transmitter, so that the connecting Transmitters are much different. With meshing the exact details of what mesh to router are unimportant as the router will usually hit the closest stuff. From within the Run Mesh Studies dialogue you can go into the algorithm setup dialogue and just press save. This will clear the cache files and when you run initialize routers the cache files will rebuild.

This issue occurs because during the process of running your mesh studies, the program builds cache files for those studies. These cache files get re-used when running the mesh studies again to help speed up calculation times. If you make changes to your sites, which are outside of the MegaMesh menu, those site changes do not get taken into effect, as a result of the cache files that were built from the previous mesh study.

Note

You must If you clear the cache files and rebuild them by running a fresh mesh study, they will rebuild as needed during the calculations.

If propagation model changes or edits of any kind are made, you should go through the same process of clearing the caches files and running a fresh mesh study in order to see those changes taken into effect during the calculations/studies. The mesh module works by reading cache files from previous runs of the study in order to save time. If changes are made to the propagation model or to a site, you will need to clear and rebuild the cache files before you see accurate results reflected from your changes.
